Unli

What is this obsession with unlimited offerings?

While I was scrolling through Facebook, I was tagged by one of my friends to try out a restaurant with “Unli Shrimps, Unli Sisig, Unli Iced Tea, Unli Rice”, for a minimal price of Php399.

I replied, “Now, that’s a fair deal! Let’s go!”

And when we finally go to these places with unlimited offerings, we actually consume less than the price we are paying for.  Come on, try to compute it.

In Mang Inasal, I would tend to go with the unli rice option when I can only finish 2 cups.

So, our economy is actually tricking our brain to take the limitless advantage, when basically, we know how much we can take.

I guess that’s the same with FOREVER (or unli LOVE perhaps?)
We crave for it to be given to us
When all we need is a glance that lingers for a few more seconds
a few encouraging words saying “You are enough”
a lyric in a song we can so much relate to, letting us know we are not alone
a few laughs over a meme
a giggle from a baby
that fresh scent after a rain shower
a wise advise from an old person
or a kid learning a lesson from you
a memory being shared
a bucket of beer
or a few puffs of Marlboro light.

Your cup doesn't have to overflow.

Just be thankful that you have a cup to begin with.

It doesn’t have to be grand. It doesn’t have to be unlimited.
No need to hoard, no need to over-invest.
It just needs to be experienced, to be tasted,
to be felt and to be lived.

Damn, I need a smoke.
