Day 3: Of Ninja Angels and Ninja Soldiers
UPDATE:
GOOD NEWS! A machine from Chong Hua (forgot the name) will extract RBC and platelets in 1 donor. This means that we can have like 2 donors in 1. With this, we need 1 more donor to pass screening to complete the blood request requirement for the initial phase. Those scheduled for screening today and Saturday, January 7, 2012 will still be screened.
However, we are still urging those with O-(O negative) blood type to still donate at their local PNRC chapters because we don't know yet how many bags our Ninja might be needing during his battle or if somebody needing the same blood type might be saved. I call these bags the power-ups! So the more power-ups, the better! Thank you, our comrades and soldiers.. You are amazing.

P.S. Let's give Lito some cheering (hep-hep-hurray!). Today is his first day for chemo therapy... This Big C doesn't know who it's dealing with and it better be afraid because its a*s is going to be kicked by the greatest ninja of all--- my wab Lito.... Go paree! Fight fight fight! We love you and we are all waiting for you to come out undefeated!
P.S.2: I CLAIM, in JESUS' NAME, TOTAL HEALING OF LITO. After all this, I believe that this will be a story of hope and inspiration, that a battle against the Big C is won because a lot fought with my Lito at front fighting this monster. God will not forsake his army of believers. Pray with me, dear friends, dear readers and claim with me the total healing that Lito will be having... Thanks, guys.. We can do this!

A letter from an angel:
Dear Daddy,
Remember this day? I was supposed to be born today but instead, Friend God took me to give way in healing you. I did not want to leave the world yet at that time because I was excited to be with you and Mommy. But Friend God and Mama Mary told me they have something planned for you and Mommy. They told me it’s a surprise and I love surprises so I just went along with their plan.
So today, my supposedly day of birth, God gave me a suit that I know you would love. It’s a ninja suit, a white one. And I look so cool, I really look like you. I know you want me to send you pictures hehe (you’re so funny, Daddy, I know what you’re thinking!) but we’re not allowed to have it here. Mama Mary said that you can imagine me in my ninja suit. This morning, I am accompanied by my Kuya angels—Bungee and Col (kornel). They said that they know you for a long time already.
Anyway, Daddy… you wanna know the big surprise Friend God and Mama Mary has in store for you? (I’m so excited to tell you, Daddy!!!) Well, here it is! Friend God and Mama Mary said I have a special ninja task and that is to look after you and Mommy. Isn’t that great, Daddy? I wasn’t born today and I am not with you anymore because today is also the day you are going to have your kimo..kemo.. sorry daddy, I don’t know how to say it. But they said you’ll need me here with you and Mommy.
I am so happy I get to be near you and Mommy all the time. I know you can’t see me but I’m just here hovering with my ninja suit. I hope you felt me when I wiped away your tear or when I tried to sleep beside you when you were snoring. Kuya Bungee said it’s not allowed but since it’s my birthday, I was able to lay beside you and imitated your snore (korrkkkknggggoooorrkkkkzzzzzzzzzzz, you are so cute Daddy!).
Daddy, Friend God and Mama Mary gave me specific instructions to be Mommy’s assistant as well in taking care of you. I keep on hugging her and giving her soft kisses so she won’t notice. I love my Mommy and she loves you very much too. They also told me that you might be in pain, Daddy, but don’t you worry, I’m tasked to hold your hand and whisper to your ear that everything will be all right. I’m confused coz Friend God said you won’t hear me but you will feel it in your heart. Hmmm okay. I don’t know what that means but I’ll just follow his instructions.
Daddy, daddy! See me fly around! I have angel wings! But I will never fly away from you. I am so happy to be with you and Mommy finally on my birthday. Being with you is the best supposed-birthday gift ever! Daddy, thank you for teaching me the ninja tricks. My angel buddies are envious because my Dad is a ninja, too! Friend God is funny sometimes but I know now why. He also does the biggest surprises. He said he has more in store for you and Mommy, you just have to trust and believe in His will… Oopss.. I’m not supposed to say that but I guess you know that now…. Hehehe…. I love you Daddy!!!! I love you Mommy!!!

The day started early, with texts and messages of support and encouragement from our Ninja Soldiers. This increased our Ninja’s energy boosters and power-ups. So with a smile on his face, he took a bath. Fresh and clean for his first battle, the chemo drugs were given to him intravenously in our lair mid this afternoon.
The Big C monster expected tears and fear from our Ninja. He was surprised to see a smiling and laughing Ninja instead. More surprises, prepare you big evil monster!
Today was supposed to be my estimated due date. Instead, I am here with my Ninja on his first day of chemotherapy. Somehow, I feel my Baby Levi’s presence around me. I expected to panic or to be afraid and get all neurotic (the usual me). Instead, surprisingly (for those who know me), I am calm, composed, positive, confident. I see no reason to cry because I believe and claim (in Jesus’ name) that we will end up undefeated. I am sure now that our baby never left our side. We love you baby.. Thank you!
I discussed this with Lito over dinner (yes, he’s still sitting down on the table for his dinner) and he said that somehow, with everything we’ve gone through, we grew up. Our problems are not laughing matters anymore and somehow it sharpened us and became mature in choosing what’s best in our situation. Growth is needed for all of us but a painless one and smooth one is not promised all the time. Like a seedling struggling out of a seed, it must have been painful, but it is needed for growth.
So today, Chemotherapy Cycle 1, Day 1: The Battle Against Big C and the Ninja, our Ninja won, thanks to the support you gave us, our Ninja Soldiers!

Thank you to the very accommodating and understanding people in the Blood Bank of Chong Hua especially to their head, Eric Lasala and Section head Pinpin. You guys make the hunt for that O- a little less stressful. Thank you.
Thank you to the different chapters of PNRC who will have donors soon from different provinces—Davao, Ozamis, Dumaguete, Cagayan and even American Red Cross. It is very overwhelming to witness different chapters unite together to save lives. It warms the heart that Good Samaritans still exist. Some just called me and texted me that they have read this blog and though they don’t know us and we don’t know them, they are willing to help. Although we might not be using the transported blood as we need actual donors here, it pays to know that O- blood will be transported to Cebu. I heard it is not us alone who are needing it. Thank you Philippine National Red Cross.
